Why Choose Vinyl
for My Floor?
Easy to clean and maintain, durable vinyl is
right at home in high traffic areas such as
kitchens, baths, playrooms, mudrooms, and entranceways.
In most cases, it also has a high degree of
moisture resistance to spills, which reinforces
its suitability for kitchens and baths.
What
Types of Vinyl Flooring are Available?
Vinyl
is offered with three different types of
wear surfaces: |
|
- Vinyl No-Wax - an entry-level
surface which still offers some resistance
to scuffs and stains, but lacks the durability
and low maintenance properties of urethane.
- Urethane
- Enhanced Urethane
For even tougher resistance to black heel
marks, dirt and most household chemicals,
enhanced urethane is the solution.
In addition to choices in wear surface and
grade, vinyl comes in both individual tiles
and sheets.
Vinyl can be installed over most any surface
and is especially well popular in kitchens
and bathrooms (if moisture rated by the manufacturer).

Maintenance
Regular care of vinyl floors is amazingly
simple. Daily vacuuming, sweeping or mopping
will help maintain the original shine and
color of a vinyl floor for years. Quick clean
up of spots and spills with a mild detergent
and water will prevent discoloration.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is vinyl flooring durable?
A: Yes, vinyl is very durable and an excellent choice for high traffic areas
or areas exposed to moisture such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms.
Q: What is the difference
between vinyl flooring and Resilient flooring?
A: There is no difference, they are simply
two names for the same product.
Q: What type of mat can
I place on my vinyl floor?
A: Use non-staining mats on your floor;
do NOT use rubber-backed or coco fiber mats
on your floor as they may stain or damage
the surface.
Q: How long should I wait
to clean my vinyl floor after it has been
installed?
A: The adhesive under your floor needs
time to dry after installation. We recommend
that you do not scrub or wash your floor
for at least three days after it has been
installed.
Q: How often should I clean
my vinyl floor?
A: Generally, sweeping at least once
a week and wiping up spills immediately will
help to maintain the quality of your flooring.
When mopping, use the manufacturer's recommended
cleaning solution; soap and detergent products
leave a dulling film.
